Between Luxor and Aswan the Nile flows past the greatest temples of ancient Egypt.

Ancient Thebes, today Luxor, keeps Karnak, Luxor Temple and the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings; upstream, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Philae lead to Aswan, gateway to the colossi of Abu Simbel.
